IOP Programming for Adolescents
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is dedicated to helping young adults develop healthier coping skills and build a recovery support network. This program allows participants to receive treatment on a part-time, yet intensive schedule. We believe that recovery and life are one and the same, and that enjoying daily life is an integral therapeutic component of treatment.
Your teen can continue to attend school, work and tend to the duties of daily life. This nine-hour-a-week (three hours a day, three days a week) program allows patients the opportunity to practice their new skills while still benefiting from the support and accountability of treatment.
We use several treatment modalities to assist individuals in their mental health recovery through coping with depression and anxiety, developing action plans and building coping skills.
Core groups are organized around these treatment models and may include:
- Mindfulness skills
- Assertiveness training
- Anxiety management
- Anger management
- Problem solving
- Crisis management
- Grief work
- Setting boundaries
- Identification of feelings
- Codependency
- Using medication effectively
Is an IOP right for me?
This IOP is for adolescents with mental health concerns who recently completed an inpatient mental health stay, plus:
- They need help applying new coping methods to daily life
- They aren’t progressing with their current community-based outpatient mental health treatment plan
- Experiencing new or worsening mental health symptoms that may improve with care but may not require inpatient admission
